At its regular sitting on Wednesday, the Council of Ministers approved a draft Memorandum of Intent and Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and Germany’s Brinell Compute GmbH for the implementation of an investment project. Through the Memorandum, the parties will declare and confirm their intention to cooperate in reaching a final decision on the implementation of an investment in Plovdiv Region for the construction of artificial intelligence computing capacities.
The implementation of the project is planned to begin no later than the second quarter of 2026.
The signing of the Memorandum is of key importance in the final stage of the company’s procedure for selecting an investment location and signals Bulgaria’s intention to attract the strategic investor, the Government Information Service reported. The implementation of the investment project is expected to have a significant impact on the creation of long-term, high value-added employment, the acceleration of technology transfer and the introduction of innovations, the formation of cluster effects, and the strengthening of the country’s technological development.
