The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry has sent an official diplomatic note to the Republic of Greece regarding the closure of key roads and border crossing points during the protest actions by Greek farmers, the Ministry’s press centre said here on Wednesday.

The note underscores that the prolonged blocking of roads and border crossings has led to serious economic difficulties for Bulgarian transport companies, exporters and citizens, as well as to disruptions of the free movement of people and goods guaranteed under European Union law.

The Bulgarian side expresses its expectation that the issue will be addressed constructively and in a spirit of good neighbourliness, and that concrete measures will be taken to prevent similar situations in the future.
