site.btaBulgarian Land Forces Troops Excel in "Golden Sword 25" Exercise in Greece

Service members of Bulgaria's Land Forces showcased capabilities during the "Golden Sword 25" (GOSW-25) international exercise that took place in Greece between December 8 and 11, 2025, the Defence Ministry in Sofia said in a press release on Friday. GOSW-25 involved participants from seven countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Hungary, and Romania.

At the live/field training exercise, Bulgaria was represented by a mechanized infantry platoon of the 3rd Brigade Command based in Blagoevgrad (Southwestern Bulgaria). The unit, commanded by Senior Lieutenant Yordan Stoychev, was part of a multi-national company and acted jointly with Hellenic and Albanian army personnel.

The Bulgarian troops performed excellently during the Distinguished Visitors Day on the last day of the exercise, the press release said.
