site.btaTISP: Responsibility for Government Collapse Lies with Those Who Caused Chaos
One of the parties in Bulgaria's outgoing coalition government described Thursday's resignation of the cabinet as a matter of bearing consequences. "A society must make decisions and bear the consequences, just as the three parties in government bear the consequences of being in power together. Once there will be no government, the responsibility will no longer lie with any of the three parties," said Toshko Yordanov, floor leader of There Is Such a People (TISP), at a briefing in the National Assembly minutes after Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov announced that the government is resigning.
"The deliberately provoked chaos leads to chaos at all levels of Bulgarian society," Yordanov added. "But there is no problem, we are not clinging to this power. The responsibility lies with all those who caused this chaos," he further commented. He noted the adoption of the euro from January 1, as well as the absence of a budget for 2026.
“The fathers of the chaos have names – Assen Vassilev, Ivaylo Mirchev, Radostin Vasilev, Kostadin Kostadinov, Ivelin Mihaylov,” commented Stanislav Balabanov from TISP. "On the eve of Bulgaria's eurozone entry, the fathers of the chaos will try to do everything possible to make society enter this process unprepared. Since they wanted chaos, they are accordingly receiving it," Balabanov added.
"We listened to the Bulgarian citizens, and TISP, together with the other two political formations [in the government], made the right decision," Balabanov said.
