site.bta38.2% of Bulgaria's Electricity Generated from Renewable Energy Sources in Q3, 2025
In the third quarter of 2025, 49.3% of net electricity generated in the EU came from renewable energy sources (RES), an increase of 3.8% compared with the 47.5% registered in the same quarter of 2024, Eurostat reported om Thursday. Among EU Member States, in the third quarter of 2025, Denmark, with 95.9%, had the highest share of renewables in net electricity generated, followed by Austria with 93.3% and Estonia 85.6%. On the other side of the spectrum were Malta with 16.6%, Czechia with 19.7% and Slovakia with 21.1%, while Bulgaria ranked 21st with 38.2%.
Compared to the same quarter of 2024, the share of RES in Bulgaria's electricity mix grew by 5.54 percentage points, according to BTA's calculations based on data from Eurostat.
