Commenting on the debates on the vote of no confidence in the cabinet, Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov told reporters in Parliament on Wednesday that the best possible scenario would be to have the government resign as soon as possible. Kostadinov believes that a resignation is possible in January 2026.

The leader of Vazrazhdane said that the ruling party will then claim that it has fulfilled its main geopolitical goal, which he described as destroying the Bulgarian lev and Bulgarian statehood.

Kostadinov labelled the no-confidence debates in Parliament as "exceptionally sluggish". He added: "The situation in the country is clear—there is no money, and obligations are growing rapidly."

When asked about Yes, Bulgaria's request to abolish the protection of MPs provided by the National Service for Protection (NSP), Kostadinov replied that in 2021, his party proposed an amendment that would have abolished the protection of former prime ministers. He stated that the NSP should not guard MPs or former prime ministers but only the Parliament chair and deputy chairs.

Speaking on the current version of the state budget, the party leader said that it is no better than the previous one. He stated: "The debt remains, while reduced from BGN 21 billion to BGN 20 billion," adding that the forecasts for the next two and three years are very bleak. He warned that Bulgaria may find itself in the same situation as Greece, which is forced to take out loans in order to cover its capital expenditures.

Commenting on Tuesday's protest in Stara Zagora, Southern Bulgaria, one of two dozen pro-government rallies held across the country, Kostadinov stated that the government lacks support "even among its own people". He added: "Yesterday [on Tuesday], [MRF - New Beginning leader] Delyan Peevski hid from his own protests in the country, and we all saw that this formation called MRF no longer has the electoral support it once had."
