Kozloduy NPP - New Build EAD and the LEP-BWXT-CNPSA consortium with predominantly Canadian participation signed an agreement here on Tuesday that would have the consortium assist Bulgaria in exercising investor control and monitoring the processes related to the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the new nuclear facilities at the Kozloduy NPP site.
The President of BWXT's Commercial Operations, John MacQuarrie, described the occasion as a step towards a clean energy future. MacQuarrie was hopeful that the agreement would develop into a long-term relationship of trust. He reported that his company has been working on similar complex projects for decades, and its job is to provide monitoring and independent technical services while meeting the global standards and securing a more sustainable future.
LEP President Leslie McWilliams said that the consortium's role is not only in technical consulting, but also in its international commitment to a clean future in the energy sector and the creation of new jobs.
