site.btaPM Zhelyazkov to Attend AI and Audit Conference Marking National Audit Office Anniversaries

Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will attend a high-level conference entitled Artificial Intelligence and IT Audit in the Protection of Public Resources, the government press service said on Sunday. The event, organized by the Bulgarian National Audit Office (BNAO), will take place in Sofia on Monday to mark BNAO's 145th anniversary and 30 years since its reinstatement.

BNAO is hosting the gathering, which will bring together senior representatives of supreme audit institutions (SAIs) from across Europe, as well as Bulgarian government officials and leaders of professional organisations.

On Sunday evening, a dynamic 3D visual projection will illuminate the facade of the Regional History Museum – Sofia, celebrating BNAO's history. The display will trace the institution’s past, present activities, and look to its future, where artificial intelligence is seen as an ally to auditors in their professional responsibilities and mission to improve the management of public funds.

Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev, other ministers, the heads of European supreme audit institutions, leaders of Bulgarian State bodies, and representatives of professional organisations will attend the conference along with Zhelyazkov, BNAO said.
