Traffic is heavy for incoming passenger vehicles at the Kalotina checkpoint on Bulgaria’s border with Serbia, the Border Police said on Saturday morning.

At the border with Romania, traffic is normal at all border crossing points. The Oryahovo-Bechet ferry platform on the Danube suspended operations on July 2 for an indefinite period due to low water levels in the river. Renovation of the Bulgarian section of the Danube Bridge at Ruse is ongoing. Traffic is limited to one lane and movement is regulated by the contractor’s staff.

At the border with Greece, only passenger cars and minibuses weighing up to 3.5 tonnes are allowed to cross the checkpoints at Makaza, Zlatograd, and Ivaylovgrad. Construction works are underway on the Greek side of the Rudozem-Xanthi route, where authorities have posted signs indicating that the area is a construction site and prohibiting unauthorized access.

At the Stanke Lisichkovo checkpoint on the border with the Republic of North Macedonia, reconstruction work is ongoing and crossing is limited to a reduced number of lanes. Traffic is normal at all other border crossing points.

Traffic is also normal at the border crossing points with Turkiye.
