Five out of ten Romanians (53.4%) believe that the new government of Ilie Bolojan is leading the country in the wrong direction, according to the latest survey conducted by the INSCOP sociological agency , cited by Digi24.

36.6% hold the opposite view, while 10% either do not know or do not wish to respond.

Those who are pessimistic include supporters of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), people with lower education, residents of rural areas, and users of the social media platform TikTok.

Optimists include supporters of the National Liberal Party (PNL) and the Save Romania Union (USR), young people under 30, those with higher education, residents of Bucharest, and people living in large urban areas.

"The perception of the country’s direction has improved compared to the public assessments made before the presidential elections, but the proportion of those who believe the country is heading in the wrong direction remains high. Optimism is rather moderate, which is natural during a period of economic hardship and in the context of anticipated income reductions. Overall, the data reflects a general climate of distrust in the political class's ability to improve the national situation, with strong polarization along political, social, and demographic lines," commented INSCOP Director Remus Ștefureac.

The survey was conducted between June 20 and 26 among 1,150 participants, interviewed by phone. The statistical margin of error is +/- 2.9%, with a confidence level of 95%. The data was collected through interviews using a questionnaire.
