Following its success in Sofia with over half a million visitors, the LUNAR Festival of Lights is making its debut on the Southern Black Sea coast. From August 1 to August 4, the resorts of Tsarevo, Lozenets, Ahtopol, and Sinemorets is hosting the festival’s first seaside edition, featuring large-scale 3D mapping projections and light installations. The event is organized by MP-STUDIO with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and in partnership with Tsarevo Municipality, the Tourism Ministry said in a press release on Saturday.
At the official opening, Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh praised the event as “a world-class festival” and emphasized the dedication of local authorities. “There is no other cultural event in the country that draws such crowds. The benefits for the region – tourism, local business, and cultural vitality—are only beginning,” he said.
Borshosh also announced the creation of a joint tourism initiative between the Ministry and coastal municipalities to develop a unified regional offering. He commended Tsarevo for its strong local governance, clean and well-maintained infrastructure, and forward-thinking approach to tourism.
“This festival is the crown jewel of Tsarevo’s efforts. I am proud of the young team at MP-STUDIO, the Bulgarian businesses that support cultural projects, and leaders like Mayor Marin Kirov. You have our full support,” the Minister said.
