Bulgarian and Turkish Heads of State Rumen Radev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed on Saturday in a telephone conversation the expansion of transport, energy, and digital connectivity between Bulgaria and Turkiye, which is essential for promoting not only bilateral economic cooperation and mutual investment, but also for the entire region, the Radev's press office said.
The two officials expressed a common position that the development of friendly relations between Bulgaria and Turkiye stimulates partnership in all areas of mutual interest. The interest of companies from both countries in enhanced investment and industrial cooperation was noted.
Presidents Radev and Erdogan highly appreciated the bilateral partnership in the field of security, including the fight against illegal migration, with the Bulgarian head of state emphasizing the joint efforts to reduce migration pressure on Bulgaria.
President Radev highly appreciated President Erdogan's mediating role in the war between Russia and Ukraine and expressed hope that mutual agreement on the cessation of hostilities would be reached as soon as possible.
