site.bta6.1 Earthquake Registered in Southern Aegean Sea


A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.1 was registered in the sea between the Greek islands of Kasos and Karpathos in the southern Aegean Sea on Tuesday night, Greek state broadcaster ERT reported.
According to the Greek Institute of Geodynamics, the earthquake struck at 1:51 am, 20 km south of Kasos, at a depth of 64.4 km.
The quake was felt particularly strongly on the islands of Crete and Rhodes, where a tsunami warning was issued as a precaution.
There are no reports of casualties or damage so far.
