A trial over a January assault against Hristian Pendikov, who served as secretary of the now-deregistered King Boris III Association in Ohrid, was adjourned again. This time, the proceedings were postponed due to court administrators' protests in North Macedonia.
Defendant Ilija Spaseski entered the courtroom, but his lawyer did not. The lawyer stated that he supported the court administrators' strike.
According to judge Bojan Martinoski, there is a second defendant in the case, Borce Angelov, whom Pendikov recognized as a participant in the assault. Surveillance camera footage, viewed at an earlier court sitting, showed two people beating Pendikov in the January incident.
Angelov is indicted for inflicting serious bodily harm on Pendikov in complicity with Spaseski. Next time, the Basic Court in Ohrid is expected to decide whether to merge the two cases on the assault, Pendikov's lawyer Stefan Kamisevski said.
The next sitting is scheduled for October 26.
