The legendary Orient Express long-distance passenger train will arrive in the Bulgarian city of Ruse on August 30, the border authority in the Danubian city said on Wednesday.

The train will be making its annual journey from Paris to Istanbul after a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Entering Bulgaria from Romania, the 15-car train will arrive at the Central Railway Station in Ruse at 1:05 p.m. local time on August 30, from where it will depart for the Black Sea city of Varna about an hour later. While in Ruse, it will undergo border control formalities and a technical inspection, and its water tanks will be refilled.

Last time, Ruse welcomed the Orient Express on August 27, 2019. Ninety-one tourists from 12 countries were travelling on it.
