Students from the Robocode School in Varna are representing Bulgaria at the world final of Infomatrix 2026, an international information technology competition in Bucharest, the school authorities said on Sunday.

The participants from Varna are competing in the robotics and programming categories, where they are measuring themselves against finalists from around the world. During the official events, the Bulgarian team wore traditional folk costumes and waved the national tricolour, the team reported.

They added that support for the participants had also been expressed by the Bulgarian consul in Romania, who met the team and congratulated the pupils on their performance.

"It is a great honour and responsibility for us to defend the honour of Bulgaria and Varna at such a high-profile forum. Our pupils have proved that the Bulgarian school in technology has a bright future", the Robocode management said.

The final results and the ranking of the Bulgarian participants are expected to be announced at the championship's closing ceremony.
