A total of 72 people wanted by Turkiye on suspicion of various crimes have been detained in several countries, including Bulgaria, and extradited to Turkiye, the Turkish Interior Ministry said in a statement posted on social media.
According to the ministry, 32 of the suspects were the subject of Interpol Red Notices.
The operations were carried out in coordination with the Turkish Interpol Directorate under the General Directorate of Security, the Justice Ministry, and the relevant authorities in the countries where the suspects were detained.
Most of the suspects — 54 people — were apprehended in Georgia. The others were detained in Germany, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Argentina, Colombia, Iraq, Russia, Sweden, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which is recognized only by Ankara.
