The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) will publish the issue of LIK magazine titled “Christo and Jean-Claude at 90 in Eternity” in French, German, and English with financial support from the Ministry of Culture. The magazine is expected to be released in all three languages by the end of the year and to be presented in Berlin and Paris.

The Bulgarian-language issue of LIK magazine, dedicated to Christo Javacheff and his wife Jean-Claude, was presented on June 25 at the newly established Christo and Jean-Claude Center in Gabrovo. Via videoconference, guests joined the event from the Maxim hall of the agency in Sofia, as well as from BTA press clubs across Bulgaria and abroad.

The magazine retraces the history of Christo Javacheff and his wife, as it has been presented in the news over the years. The pages of LIK magazine also include excerpts from interviews with Christo Javacheff given at various stages of his career.

This year also marks three major anniversaries related to their work - 40 years since the wrapping of Pont Neuf (the New Bridge in Paris), 30 years since the wrapping of the Reichstag in Berlin, and 20 years since the installation The Gates in New York. The editions will include news from BTA broadcasts about the anniversaries.

On October 3, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo will inaugurate the renamed Pont Neuf – Christo and Jean-Claude Square.

Until October 30, the Christo and Jean-Claude Foundation is presenting “Christo and Jean-Claude: Paris Projects” – an open-air exhibition installed along the banks of the Seine River. It showcases both realized and unrealized projects by the duo.
