The Industrial Production Index dropped 8.3% in July 2025 compared to July 2024, according to calendar-adjusted data, announced the National Statistical Institute on Wednesday. The data are preliminary and seasonally adjusted. 

Monthly, industrial production remained unchanged between June and July 2025. Increases, however, were recorded in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 2.0%, and in the manufacturing - by 1.8%, while a decline was reported in the mining and quarrying industry - by 11.5%. 

The manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment registered more significant monthly growth by 16.1%, while other unspecific otherwise types of manufacturing - by 14.6%. The manufacture of other transport equipment recorded a 17.2% decrease and the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations - 9.7%. 

Annually, the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply reported decline of 34.9%, while manufacturing decreased by 3.3%. The mining and quarrying industry saw a 2.1% increase.  

In the manufacturing, a significant decline in production, compared to July 2024, was reported in: the manufacture of paper and paper products, and in the manufacture of other transport equipment - both by 25.8%; the manufacture of wearing apparel - by 21.0%; and the manufacture of basic metals - by 19.6%. 

The manufacture of tobacco products rose by 34.5%, while the manufacture of furniture - by 17.6%.
