A discussion titled The Euro, the Environment, and Sustainable Tourism: New Horizons in a Common Currency, is scheduled to take place Monday at the Ministry of Environment and Water, Ministry’s press office announced.
The event is an initiative of Minister of Environment and Water Manol Genov and Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh, with expert support from the Ministry of Finance. Mayors of municipalities actively pursuing sustainable tourism policies will also participate.
The discussion will focus on the effects of the euro’s introduction on the development of sustainable tourism while preserving natural resources. Another highlight will be the potential for joint green projects within the new economic framework.
“Modern tourism cannot thrive without effective connectivity, accessibility, and cleanliness, and local needs are best understood when you're on the ground," Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh said said in late July during an offsite meeting of the Parliamentary Tourism Committee in Sozopol.
