Albanian Parliament Speaker Elisa Spiropali Thursday laid a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier in central Sofia. The ceremony is part of her two-day visit at the invitation of National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova.

The two parliament leaders are scheduled to meet and Spiropali will sign the official guest book of the National Assembly.

On Thursday afternoon, Spiropali and Kiselova will participate in a PanEurope forum at the Central Military Club, where the Albanian official will make a statement. She is also scheduled to meet with President Rumen Radev.

Spiropali arrived on July 9 and was met at the airport by Bulgaria-Albania Friendship Group Chair Hristo Terziyski.

Meeting with Spiropali on Wednesday, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov congratulated Albania on its significant progress in the process of joining the European Union. He said it is the result of tremendous work done by the candidate country and shows the maturity of its society. "Bulgaria will continue to support Albania's European perspective," Zhelyazkov told Spiropali as quoted by the government press service. He further emphasized that Bulgaria regards Albania as a trusted and loyal partner.
