Bulgaria recorded the highest annual increase (+7.8%) in industrial producer prices among EU member states in May 2025, while also reporting the sharpest monthly decline (-3.7%), according to data released by Eurostat on Friday.

In May 2025, compared with April 2025, industrial producer prices decreased by 0.6% in both the euro area and the EU. In April 2025, industrial producer prices fell by 2.2% in the euro area and by 2.1% in the EU.

In May 2025, compared with May 2024, industrial producer prices increased by 0.3% in the euro area and by 0.4% in the EU.

The largest monthly decreases in industrial producer prices after Bulgaria were recorded in Greece (-1.9%), and in Croatia and Finland (both -1.8%). Increases were observed in Cyprus (+1.0%), as well as in Latvia, Luxembourg, and Slovenia (each +0.1%).

The highest annual increases in industrial producer prices following Bulgaria were registered in Greece (+6.4%) and Hungary (+3.9%), while the largest annual declines were observed in Portugal (-2.8%), Lithuania (-2.5%), and Finland (-2.0%).
