site.btaJune 23, 2010: Time Capsule with Book about World's Expected Development by 2060 Placed at National Library

On June 23, 2010, a time capsule was placed at the St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library containing the book 2060. It contains all the opinions and comments about the development of the world until 2060 posted by citizens on the blog http://2060.bg by April 2010.
The 640 pages of the book are recycled offset paper, and the cover is leather with a metal cover. The capsule's electronic timer has a countdown matrix that began reading at 26,298,720 - the equivalent of 50 years in minutes. The capsule itself weighs 500 kg and is made of heat-treated granite.
The event was attended by most of the editors of the project - Virginiya Zaharieva, Georgi Lozanov, Boyko Vassilev, Petar Kanev, and Lyubo Nokov.
In his speech, Lozanov said: "I am a media person. Fifty years ago there was no television and it was impossible to imagine the existence of a media man at all."
Vassilev stressed that "the book we are closing today is not fiction, but archaeology for those who will open the capsule to read what we imagined for their time."
