site.btaTannhauser to Open Sofia Opera's 2025 Wagner Festival on June 26


The Sofia Opera will launch its annual Wagner Festival on June 26 with Tannhauser, it emerged at a news conference here on Tuesday. The theatre's Director Plamen Kartaloff described the Opera's activities as "a real cultural march and feat performed in both Bulgaria and abroad."
Also attending the news conference were conductor Constantin Trinks, set designer Sven Jonke, the production team and members of cast.
Tannhauser is the 13th performance paying tribute to Richard Wagner that the Sofia Opera has staged over the last 15 years, Kartaloff said.
This year's Wagner Festival will also feature the Der Ring des Nibelungen tetralogy, with Das Rheingold on June 28, Die Walkure on June 29, Siegfried on July 1 and Gotterdammerung on July 3. The festival will close on July 5 with Tannhauser.
