National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova opened the 25th "The Willow Whistle Plays" National Children's Folklore Festival "" in Bolyarovo, which features more than 500 children from across the country, Parliament's press service said. In her address, she emphasized that folklore reflects the resilience and spirit of the Bulgarian people through the centuries and wished the participants success.

The festival brings together children aged 5 to 19, competing in three categories – singers, instrumentalists, and dancers. As part of the event, there is also a competition titled "With the Songs of Elena Gramatikova," dedicated to the famous folk singer from the village of Sharkovo.

Among the official guests were Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov, MEP Kristian Vigenin, members of parliament, local authorities, and guests from North Macedonia. The jury is chaired by folk singer Kalinka Zgurova.
