President Rumen Radev told reporters here on Saturday that his cause as president is democracy, which is why he wants the people to be heard, when they are faced with prices that the State cannot control.
Radev said: "Days ago, the heads of the authorized commissions said they needed more people and a bigger budget because they did not have the human and financial capacity to deploy full-scale action against unregulated price gouging."
Asked about the anti-euro protests planned for Saturday, Radev said that denounces all forms of violence and urged Bulgarians to express their views peacefully.
Asked about the recent developments with the parliamentary group of Democracy, Rights and Freedoms, the President said that the way to counteract the "black hole of oligarchy that is swallowing the Bulgarian political system more and more" is to introduce a new political alternative. Commenting on whether he would head such a party after the end of his term, Radev said: "This will come from the people who want their voice to be heard and who are neglected by the government. And they are already raising their voices."
The head of State was in the town of Lyaskovets for the 13th National Sheep Breeders' Gathering.
