The Interior Ministry is planning a public procurement procedure for 15,200 body-worn and in-car cameras, Interior Minister Daniel Mitov says in a written reply to a question by MECh Deputy Floor Leader Nikolay Radoulov. The cameras will be used by security police in the following areas: patrol-post activity, territorial service and traffic police, as well as for the needs of Border Police and the Gendarmerie Directorate.

Mitov recalls that since 2020, the Ministry of Interior has put into operation technical means for video recording during security activities - personal police cameras (body-worn cameras attached to the uniform of the officers) and a video recorder. A total of 4,034 personal police cameras have been provided to the regional directorates of the Ministry of Interior and the Sofia Directorate of Interior, some of them for video recorders, Minister Mitov specifies in his reply.
