site.btaVice President Iotova Pays Official Visit to Montenegro

Vice President Iliana Iotova will pay an official visit to Montenegro from April 3 to 5, 2024, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of a fatal accident at the Lim River that took the lives of 12 children from Svishtov, the press secretariat of the Head of State said on Wednesday. 

During the first day of his visit, the Vice President will meet with leaders and children from the "Touch the Rainbow" Association in Podgorica.

On Thursday Iotova will attend an official ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers in front of the "Angels of Lim" monument, which is located near the Serbian village of Gostun and was erected in memory of the deceased children by their parents and relatives.

Later in the day, Iotova will visit the town of Bijelo Polje, where she will deliver a speech on the 20th anniversary of the Lim River tragedy.

On Friday, the Vice President will visit Cetinje to discuss an initiative to erect a monument to Ivan Vazov. There, Iotova will meet with Cetinje Mayor Nikola Duraskovic. Iotova's programme includes a visit to Cetinje Monastery and a meeting with Metropolitan Joanikije.

Later, Iotova will meet with Montenegro's Culture Minister Tamara Vujovic.
