Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov commented on the elections in Hungary, emphasizing that the partner of his political organisation in the European Parliament has retained its position and firmly remains the third political force. The Our Homeland Movement, which is part of [the far-right] Europe of Sovereign Nations Group in the European Parliament, won 333,000 votes in Hungary, Kostadinov's party said Monday, quoting his Facebook post.

The elections in Hungary have concluded, he says, describing the conclusions that Bulgarians should draw from the election results.

There was extremely high voter turnout of over 80%. A free people know that power is in their hands and are not afraid to use it in elections. By midnight, 99% of the tally sheets had been counted. In Bulgaria, however, the final result is announced on Wednesday [given that the elections in both countries take place on Sunday], while 99% of tally sheets are only reached by Monday evening in terms of processing.

Orban’s party lost after 16 years in power. Regardless of how much is done for the people, long-term rule inevitably either degenerates into corruption or becomes tiresome for citizens, who then seek any alternative, Kostadinov argues.

The European Commission carried out blatant and brutal interference in Hungary’s internal affairs, openly supporting Peter Magyar’s opposition party for more than a year and a half. However, the Tisza Party, which won the elections, is in many respects even more conservative than the defeated Fidesz of Orban, the Vazrazhdane leader says.

The regime of Hristijan Mickoski in North Macedonia lost its only ally in the EU, which often supported anti-Bulgarian positions of Macedonian diplomacy in Brussels. Bulgaria’s positions in North Macedonia before European institutions will become easier to defend—provided Bulgaria wants this, he says.

"For us in Vazrazhdane, another point is also important. Our coalition partner in Europe of Sovereign Nations, the Our Homeland Movement, has maintained its position from the previous elections and will be the third party in the Hungarian parliament. Purely electorally, it increased its vote count to 333,000.”

He also added a photo of a post by Alexander Soros on social media and commented:

“Finally - the photo clearly shows who is most pleased by Orban’s defeat. However, the Tisza victory does not automatically mean a Soros victory. Orban created deep conservative attitudes in Hungarian society, and in the end that led to his defeat - he simply lost to an even more conservative former member of his own party.”
