Motorcycle Rally Campaigns for Egg Donation

Foundation Iskam Bebe (I Want a Baby Foundation) celebrates its 17th birthday with a motorcycle rally in support of egg donation here on Sunday. The initiative is organized in collaboration with the Medical Supervision Executive Agency, the charity motorcycle organization Widows Sons Grand Chapter Bulgaria, Masonic Riders Bulgaria and motorcyclists from all across the country.

The rally will take place under the slogan You Are the Life.

The event aims to draw attention to the importance of egg donation and regular reproductive health prevention among young people. Another focus is offering support to the people who need it on their journey to responsible, timely parenthood.

According to Iskam Bebe, some 150,000 couples in Bulgaria have trouble conceiving, while the need for donated genetic material is a growing problem. Reproductive health prevention, especially for young women, is essential as poor ovarian reserve often goes undiagnosed.

Foundation Iskam Bebe reported that the number of women who turn to the foundation for financial and emotional support has grown manifold over the years, while the age of those whose reproductive challenges necessitate the need for donor eggs has dropped. According to data provided by the Medical Supervision Executive Agency and cited by the Foundation, 1,429 donor egg procedures were performed in 2021, 1,530 in 2022 and 1,787 in 2023, however, those numbers are significantly lower than what is necessary.
