A major modernization of Romania's largest airport, the Bucharest Henry Coanda International Airport, starts on 30 October. The project is worth EUR 23 million and will last 101 months.

The Bucharest Airports National Company promises that passengers will be inconvenienced as little as possible.

The construction works will be completed in phases so as not to block passenger flows. The beneficiary's requirement to carry out the works at night will be taken into account as well, the company said in a press release.

The public areas connected to the terminals, the centralized ventilation and air-conditioning system as well as the electrical system are to be upgraded.

Henry Coanda Airport (Otopeni) is the largest airport in Romania. It has serviced some 12 million passengers in 2022.
