The Council of Ministers will meet shortly, we are already preparing our protocols and we will tell what will be the financial balance of this flood that has inundated us, Tsarevo Mayor Georgi Lapchev told the media late Wednesday afternoon.

The two local dams are currently in fully secured mode. The decision we have taken is to drain them and urgent work will be started to repair the walls as this powerful wave that came as a result of the rainfall has caused damage, the mayor further explained, adding that assistance from the state will be requested.

He pointed out that the experts who have made a survey have said that if one of the dams had not been completely empty before the heavy rainfall started, the entire Oasis complex would have been nonexistent now. "It was the buffer that saved an entire area full of hundreds of people," Lapchev said.

The mayor also said that power restoration had begun in areas where possible.
