Speaking during the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia on Monday, North Macedonia’s Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski underlined his Government's commitment to reforms process in his country and expressed confidence that the EU will make efforts for the enlargement in 2030 to become a reality, adding that his country will do everything possible to reform the society in North Macedonia according to European standards, the Government’s press service in Skopje reported.

"I am convinced that North Macedonia has shown that it can make difficult and courageous decisions and after each one we came out as a stronger country and that is why at this point I would say that in the old sense of the old candidate countries, we are the best in many aspects in terms of implementation of European legislation, micro-financial stability, this has been proven by the EU and EU instruments.   That is why I say 2030 is feasible as a target", Kovachevski said.

The citizens of North Macedonia have maintained their Euro-optimism and 80% of them are in favour of the country's EU membership, Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovachevski said in the panel "Solidarity for Global Security" at the Strategic Forum in Bled, the government press service in Skopje reports.

In his speech, Kovachevski referred to the process of EU enlargement with the Western Balkan countries, analysing the period since 2003, when the country was first put on the EU enlargement agenda, and expressed his expectation that the principles of enlargement should be based on EU values, as well as political and economic cooperation between the countries, rather than domestic politics being taken to the international stage.
