Bulgarian Artist Ivan Milushev Receives Award in Kastra Slovenian Watercolour Festival

Bulgarian artist Ivan Milushev was awarded with a prize from the Kastra Slovenian large format watercolour festival. It will be presented to him during the opening of the fifth edition of the festival on August 26 at the House of Culture in the town of Ajdovscina. Milushev is one of the five awarded artists, the Bulgarian Embassy in Ljubljana said Monday.

The artist won the prize, awarded by the sponsors of the biennial international festival. He was selected among more than 180 artists from 45 countries from all over the world who submitted their works for Kastra. Bulgarians Svetlin Sofroniev, Svilena Babukchieva and Henrietta Maneva also took part in the competition.

Ivan Milushev is a graduate of the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia and has been in charge of Blagoevgrad City Art Gallery for ten years. So far he has participated in over 40 solo and collective exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. "His professional career has developed mainly in the field of illustration, watercolour, graphic art and painting", the Bulgarian embassy said.
