Conditions for hiking in the mountains are good, but the weather is sunny and hot. Wind in the Balkan Range, but none in Rila, Pirin and Mt. Vitosha. Temperatures in the mountain resorts range between 18 C and 20 C. Afternoon thundery showers are also possible. 

The Rescue Service advises hikers to drink a lot of water and wear hats, keep to the designated tracks and avoid lengthy exposure to the sun.

Mostly sunny weather Friday. Afternoon cloud, short local showers in the western and central Bulgarian ranges. Moderate northwesterly wind, westerly at higher altitudes and open spaces.  Highs: 29 C at 1,200 m, 21C at 2,000 m.
