A team of the International Ski Federation (FIS) and the companies responsible for the races in the Alpine Ski World Cup events, inspected Bansko's readiness to host the circuit's starts in February 2024, said the Bulgarian Ski Federation (BSF) Friday. The team is headed by the chief race director for the men's Alpine Ski World Cup Markus Waldner.
The FIS delegation was accompanied by a BSF team and representatives of the organizing committee for the Bansko World Cup, and Bansko ski zone concessionaire ULEN.
They inspected the slope where the giant slalom and slalom will be held next year, and looked into other details related to the organization of the races, including accommodation conditions, transport, logistics, organization of ceremonies and press centre.
The men's alpine events in Bansko will take place on February 10-11 and are expected to be the biggest sporting event in Bulgaria next winter.
