site.btaCaretaker Cabinet Organizes Humanitarian Aid Delivery Corridors to Syria

The European Commission informed the Bulgarian government on Wednesday that the EU Civil Protection Mechanism has been activated on Syria's request, the Council of Ministers' press service reported on Friday. The caretaker government is working actively to provide the humanitarian aid and to organize the necessary delivery corridors in its efforts to alleviate the impact from the earthquakes.

Alternative routes are being discussed due to the difficulties with deliveries by air to Syria.

The US Department of the Treasury issued a six-month waiver of the sanctions imposed on Syria to allow the provisions of aid. Syria and Turkiye were hit hard by the earthquakes on February 6.
