Five Bulgarian athletes will be in action at the Winter Olympic Games in Sunday.

Alpine skier Anina Zurbriggen will compete in the women's giant slalom, starting with bib number 45. The first run is scheduled for 11:00 am on the Olimpia delle Tofane course in Cortina d'Ampezzo, with the second run due to begin at 2:30 pm.

The 22-year-old Swiss-born, whose mother is Bulgarian, will be making her Olympic debut.

At 12:15 pm, the men's 12.5km biathlon pursuit gets under way, with Blagoy Todev and Konstantin Vasilev representing Bulgaria.

The main hopes for Sunday are focused on the women's 10 km biathlon pursuit, which starts at 3:45 pm in Antholz-Anterselva. Milena Todorova will set off fourth, while Lora Hristova starts 11th, with both athletes having realistic chances of challenging for medals.

In addition to the biathlon events and alpine skiing, a further six sets of medals will be awarded on February 15: the men's freestyle skiing parallel moguls, the men's 4 × 7.5km relay in cross-country skiing, the mixed team snowboardcross, the women's 500m speed skating, the mixed team skeleton, and the women's ski jumping large hill competition.

The day's programme also includes matches from the Olympic tournaments in men's and women's curling and men's ice hockey, as well as competitions in women's bobsleigh, pairs figure skating, and men's freestyle skiing big air.
