PM Bliznashki:
Government Needed at
Any Cost

Kotel, Eastern Bulgaria, November 1 (BTA) - Prime Minister
Georgi Bliznashki said a government must be formed at any cost.
He attended a formal event marking the day of the town of Kotel
on Saturday.

Bliznashki said the first five or six months would be difficult
because a series of urgent, unpopular measures must be taken,
after which things would start to get better due to the
financing available under Bulgaria's Partnership Agreement with
the European Commission until 2020. He recalled that under the
agreement Bulgaria is to receive over 10,000 million euro in
financing between 2014 and 2020.

Bliznashki said: "Huge financial resources will be directed to
Bulgaria, the point is to create normal conditions for their
absorption without abuse and corruption."

"I set a priority on giving small depositors in Corpbank access
to their money," Bliznashki said, commenting on Parliament's
decision to end the attempts to bail out Corporate Commercial
Bank. He added that his caretaker government had prepared a
package of bills on stabilizing the financial and banking
sectors. The very idea that Corpbank will be declared bankrupt
will have an impact on the Bulgarian economy, said Bliznashki.
He added that the truth would emerge when Corpbank majority
shareholder Tsvetan Vassilev came back to Bulgaria and began
cooperating with the judicial authorities. PK/DD
