Bulgaria recorded an outstanding performance at the World Boxing Cup in Guiyang, China, with boxer Rami Kiwan winning a silver medal in the men's 75 kg category on Sunday and Radoslav Rosenov taking bronze in the 60 kg category on Saturday
Coached by Joel Arate, Kiwan, the Liverpool 2025 World Championships silver medallist, delivered a strong performance in the final but fell just short against one of the division's leading boxers, Uzbekistan's Saidjamshid Jafarov.
Radoslav Rosenov, the eight-time European champion and record five-time winner of the Strandzha Cup, was defeated in the semi-finals by reigning Paris Olympic champion Abdumalik Khalokov of Uzbekistan.
In addition to the silver medal, Kiwan earned 100 points for the international rankings, while Rosenov's bronze brought him 75 points.
The World Cup in China is considered one of World Boxing's most prestigious tournaments. It is among the key competitions on the road to securing qualification spots for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
