Organizers Announce Programme for Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance Festival

The hosts from the Lazarka Ensemble announced the official concert programme of the 11th Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance travelling festival, which will take place in Munich from May 15 to 17. The festival events will be held at BMW Park and at Max-Joseph-Platz.

A record number of participants will take the festival stage, with 120 groups and individual performers included in the programme, Plamen Petkov, head of Lazarka Ensemble, told BTA.

Participants will arrive from 21 countries: Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Poland, Malta, the United States, South Africa, the Netherlands, Cyprus, Greece, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and Bulgaria.

The festival programme on May 15 will begin at 1 pm, when the doors of BMW Park open, followed by the official opening ceremony at 2 pm. Concert performances will start at 3 pm with appearances by Lazarka Ensemble, Vanya Parizova, Mitkovi Duo, RitmiKKa folk dance group, Ot Izvora group and Gaida folk dance club.

The programme on May 16 will start at 9:30 am with Coffee and Horo Dance at the festival bazaar area. Among the highlights of the day are performances by the Gurbetchii dance group, bringing together 55 dancers from more than 25 Bulgarian ensembles from Europe and the United States, as well as appearances by ensembles and dance groups from the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Austria, France, Cyprus, Denmark, Sweden and other countries.

A special guest performance by Varna Folklore Ensemble is scheduled for 7 pm on May 16. Later in the evening, a discussion dedicated to the documentary film about Lazarka Ensemble will be held with director Yoan Kadiev, followed by joint performances by Lazarka Ensemble and Varna Folklore Ensemble. A public horo dance event will begin at 9 pm.

On May 17, the Grand Bulgarian Horo dance event will take place from 10 am until 12 am at Max-Joseph-Platz. Concert performances at BMW Park will continue throughout the afternoon with the participation of Bulgarian folklore groups from the United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Malta, South Africa and the United States.

The next host of the Expats Join Hands in Worldwide Dance festival will be announced at 6 pm on May 17. The official closing ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 pm with the special participation of the Dimitar Mechev Representative Youth Brass Orchestra with Majorettes from Velingrad.
