A higher voter turnout is expected compared to the previous elections, with over 3.3 million people projected to go to the polls on April 19, around 60% of eligible voters living in the country, compared to 2.57 million who voted in the last parliamentary elections in October 2024, according to a poll by Alpha Research. The data also show a 5% increase in declared voter turnout just in the past week.

The survey was conducted by Alpha Research between April 13 and April 15. It was published on the agency’s website and funded with its own resources. The study was carried out among 1,000 adult citizens from across the country. The information was collected through direct standardized interviews conducted via tablets in the homes of the respondents.

Progressive Bulgaria receives the highest electoral support at 34.2%. followed by GERB–UDF with 19.5%, Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria with 11.6%, MRF with 9.4%. and Vazrazhdane with 5.8%. BSP has shown an ability to mobilize during the campaign and is on the threshold of parliamentary representation with 4%, according to Alpha Research.

Below the 4% threshold are Siyanie with 3.2%, Velichie with 3%, MECH with 2.8%, There Is Such a People with 1.7%, and ARF with 1.3%.

After eight elections in five years and unsuccessful coalitions, the prevailing attitude among Bulgarian citizens (49%) is that a single party should have a majority and bear full responsibility for governing, according to Alpha Research. Another 33% believe that any government needs oversight and continue to support a coalition formula.

The polls by Alpha Research do not show significant changes between the beginning and the end of the campaign.
