site.btaUPDATED Vazrazhdane Ready to Cooperate with Anyone Who Supports Party's Governance Programme
Vazrazhdane is ready to cooperate with anyone who supports the party's demands and governance programme in the next parliament, Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov said here on Tuesday. He was speaking at a BTA-hosted news conference where representatives of the party announced Vazrazhdane's top-of-the-list candidates for the April 19 snap elections. Kostadinov pointed out that there are changes only in Silistra and Targovishte, where the party did not win an MP seat in the previous general elections.
"As for Rumen Radev's formation, what we see at the moment from his very sparing statements - because so far, after he left the Presidency, he has made exactly four public appearances – is that he outlines a policy that completely coincides with that of GERB, MRF and CC-DB. In fact, we have insurmountable serious ideological differences," added the Vazrazhdane leader.
Kostadinov stated that the party will work towards becoming "an unavoidable factor without which governance cannot take place." Kostadinov pointed out that Vazrazhdane is entering the election campaign with the motto "Free people, independent Bulgaria", two values that the party will fight for.
The leader of Vazrazhdane also said that on Tuesday, the party will once again propose lifting sanctions against Russia, because of the increases in fuel prices.
The party believes another way to address the energy market tensions is lower the excise duty for fuel "to blunt the price spike", to use the words of Kostadinov. "That, of course, would mean making budget-related sacrifices," he added.
On the Easter allowances for pensioners proposed by MRF-New Beginning, Kostadinov commented that this is a "pre-election joke" with the poorest members of society. "I do not think that these proposals should be considered in Parliament at all, because if they are submitted, we will propose an amendment. They propose 55, we will propose 155 - we are raising the stakes," Kostadinov commented. According to him, there is currently no money in the State, the budget is in a deficit, and this is stated by the Ministry of Finance itself.
