Turkiye will train three million young people over the next three years under a youth employment programme as a measure to meet labour market needs, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during his speech at the congress of the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation.
“The main expectation of industrialists, manufacturers, farmers, the tourism industry and the service sector from us at the moment is to meet their labour needs. We are opening up a very large opportunity in this regard with the youth productivity programme that we announced last week. Erdogan voiced hope to both bridge the gap between education and employment and integrate three million young people into the labour market over the next three years with this programme.
The Turkish President emphasized that new programmes would also be introduced to support businesses in paying wages and social security contributions.
“Our principle is as follows: we always stand by those who produce and create jobs. Anyone who creates added value and contributes to the Turkish economy deserves full support from our government,” Erdogan assured business representatives.
The President also presented data on the country’s economic performance, noting that the economy grew by 3.7% in 2025.
