Bulgaria's Tervel Zamfirov and Radoslav Yankov advanced to the main phase of the parallel giant slalom at the Bansko VISA FIS Snowboard Alpine World Cup on Saturday.

Zamfirov posted the third-fastest time of 1:11.86, while Yankov finished sixth with 1:11.99.

Canadian Arnaud Gaudet topped the qualification, clocking 1:11.60, 0.14 seconds ahead of Italy's Aaron March, who was second, and 0.26 seconds faster than Zamfirov.

Another Bulgarian, Alexander Krashniak, reached the second phase of qualification but failed to make the top 16 after falling shortly before the finish.

The remaining three Bulgarian competitors - Petar Gergyovski, Kristian Georgiev and Petar Gyosharkov - were eliminated in the first phase. Gergyovski placed 40th, Georgiev 42nd, and Gyosharkov did not finish.
