The Council of Ministers has approved funding for the Ministry of Health for 2026. A total of EUR 1,904,800 will be allocated for the purchase of the varicella (chickenpox) vaccine, to be administered as a mandatory immunization for children aged 12–15 months, as included in Bulgaria’s National Immunization Calendar.

An additional EUR 931,400 has been approved for the purchase of the vaccine against infections caused by the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), to be given as a targeted immunization for pregnant women between the 24th and 36th weeks of gestation.
