site.bta Annual Exhibition of Orchids to Be Held at Botanical Garden of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences from February 28 to March 8

An annual exhibition of orchids will be held from February 28 to March 8 at the Botanical Garden of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Sofia, the scientific institution said on Wednesday.

"The exhibition of plants from our orchid collection provides an opportunity to appreciate the diversity and individual beauty of the colours of different species, to learn which genera the orchids grown at home belong to and to have a consultation about them," the organizers noted.  Visitors will also be able to obtain information about the substrates, fertilizers and fertilization of orchids.

Salepaceae (orchids) are the largest plant family in the world. They are the most numerous in the collections of the Botanical Garden, which is located at the foot of Vitosha Mountain.
