At its meeting on Tuesday, the government approved funding of up to BGN 2.5 million under the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food for the implementation of a disinsection campaign along the Danube, the Council of Ministers press service reported here Tuesday. As a result of the heavy rains this spring, the mosquito population along the Danube has grown significantly.

Eradication of the insects will be carried out by widespread spraying of affected areas along the Danube using professional equipment to achieve the mass eradication of mosquitoes and prevent the spread of human and animal diseases in these regions.
