Apart from being an event for the guild, the media meeting is also a national cause, as it provides an opportunity for the media to communicate with Bulgarians outside Bulgaria - as intermediaries to our communities abroad, with representatives of state institutions, said Minister of Culture Marian Bachev during the 20th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media in Sofia.

“The topic we are going to discuss today, Culture in the Media, is particularly important in the context of our times. We live in an era of rapid technological advances in communications and content creation, in information abundance but often in a deficit of meaning. Here comes the great role of culture, which has the ability to be a reference point, to set values, and the media to make it visible, accessible and alive. We are talking about culture created by the people for the people," Bachev said.

In his words, cultural content in the media is not just a separate genre - it is an expression of our relationship to society, to identity and to the future. That is why it is very important in this meeting to exchange experiences, ideas and motivation on how to develop cultural journalism for the benefit of society, in dialogue with traditions and with an eye to new generations, the minister concluded.
