Bulgaria and Sweden are exploring new opportunities for academic cooperation following a meeting between Bulgarian Ambassador to Sweden Svetlana Stoycheva-Etropolski and the leadership of Jonkoping University, the Bulgarian Embassy in Stockholm said on Facebook.

The discussions focused on potential partnerships between Jönköping University and Bulgarian higher education institutions, particularly in the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development. The Swedish university presented its strong international profile, including industry partnerships, globally recognized research teams in foundry technologies, and a new startup program focused on AI.

According to the Embassy, both sides welcomed the prospect of expanding collaboration in research, innovation, student mobility, and academic exchange. Ambassador Stoycheva-Etropolski also highlighted Bulgaria’s achievements in mathematics, engineering, high technologies, innovation, and artificial intelligence, emphasizing the country’s ambition to develop new academic and industrial partnerships.
